TVC Board of Directors Hold Fall Meeting in Huntsville

TVC Board Chair Bill Tindal convened the organization’s fall board meeting on November 13th in Huntsville.  After members reviewed financial reports, welcomed new board members and members of the TVC Leadership Council, they received reports on various initiatives and projects including the TVC Community College Consortium, Advanced Manufacturing Initiative and Venture Development Consortium.  Brent Wiles from Leadership Council Member Bridge Public Affairs presented a draft of the organization’s 2020 Federal Agenda that will be presented to the TVC Congressional Caucus when the board holds its spring meeting in Washington, D.C. next March. John Crisp from Leadership Council Member Crisp Communications shared the communications plan for the rest of the administrative year to promote sponsorships and attendance for the 2020 Summit. TVC staff members updated the board on the planning for the 2020 Summit to be held at Milligan College in Johnson City, TN on May 27-28.  Next year’s event will be 25th Annual Summit with a theme, “Twenty-Five Years of Innovation Transforming a Region.”  The meeting concluded with a briefing by Marshall Space Flight Center Deputy Director Dr. Paul McConnaughey on the Center’s work to return to the Moon as a gateway to Mars over the next decade.  Members of the board then received a tour of MSFC.
