Auburn University is a comprehensive research university with the unique distinction of being named a land-grant, sea-grant, and space-grant institution. The university’s flagship research programs are in disciplines that include engineering, agriculture, science and mathematics, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, forestry and wildlife sciences, and human sciences.
In 2010, the Auburn University Huntsville Research Center was created to match Auburn’s research capacities with the needs of Huntsville’s agencies and industries, as well as to increase research funding to Alabama and assist the region to expand its role in the national research agenda.
